Joseph Dalton Whitfill

HOPKINSVILLE, KY - Mr. Joseph (Joe) Dalton Whitfill age 46 of Laytonsville Rd. passed away Sunday, March 7, 2010 at Vanderbilt Medical Center of injuries due to a tree cutting accident. Mr. Whitfill was born in Hardinsburg, KY on October 25, 1963 to Joseph Edward Whitfill of Hardinsburg, KY and the late Dora Dean Dalton Elder. He was a Civil Service employee at Ft Campbell’s Army Base, as the supervisor for the Roads and Grounds Department. He was a member of St. Peter and Paul Catholic Church, Knights of Columbus, League of KY Sportsman, a Hunter Education Instructor, and a life time member of the NRA. He was preceded in death by his sister, Mary Dean Gootee.

In addition to his father, Joseph Whitfill of Hardinsburg, KY survivors include his wife of 21 years, Bonnie Smith Whitfill of Hopkinsville, KY; a son, Joseph Lee Whitfill of Hopkinsville, KY; four brothers, William “Tony” Whitfill of Shepherdsville, KY, Edward Allen Whitfill of Vine Grove, KY, Donald Ray Whitfill of KY, and Timothy Wayne Whitfill of Hardinsburg, KY; two sisters, Rita Sue Carman of Hardinsburg, KY, and Joyce Ann Brown of Mock Port, IN.

Funeral services will be 1:00 PM Thursday, March 11, 2010 at St. Peter and Paul Catholic Church with Father John Thomas.  Visitation will be at Maddux-Fuqua-Hinton Funeral Home Wednesday, March 10, 2010 after 4:00 PM with the Rosary service beginning at 7:00 PM.
